What's in a Name?

We get it: our name is a little unusual. We understand why people initially thought we were some sort of boutique doggie hotel/kennel when we first opened. The name is in honor of our first dog Piper. Late at night, she would patrol the house like a faithful sentinel, & one of us would ultimately wake up to the noise & ask what was going on. The other would sleepily respond: "It's just the Nocturnal Hound making her rounds." When it was time to name the bar, we thought it was a perfect tribute to an amazing dog who, if given opposable thumbs, would have ruled the world.
